Kitt is in her first year with The Global Corner and will be teaching about Russian music and dance. A Pensacola native, she devoted over twenty years to pursuing a career as a jazz vocalist, most of it in Nashville and New Orleans, where she recorded and released two CDs of jazz standards that receive regular radio airplay. "Kids are so cool! They're naturally curious about the world around them and honest in their reactions to a good story. I'm glad of the opportunity to further the goals of TGC in fostering a compassionate and pro-active world-view in these young citizens, but I'm also just really psyched to get to hang out with them on a daily basis!"

Erica is starting her 2nd year with TGC. She will be teaching Russian Literature. “I jumped at the chance to share my passion for geography and teaching about different cultures with TGC! This year I hope TGC meets even more students so that we may leave a "spark" to ignite their curiosity about other cultures, which in turn can grow into a love for diversity.”

Jeanne is beginning her 4th year with the Global Corner after starting as a volunteer during Passport to Spain. She serves as Assistant Director to Lee Hansen and is responsible for the coordination of daily school schedules and assisting The Global Corner teachers to ensure TGC's visits go as smoothly as possible. She also gives the Introduction opening each morning's activities. Like Director Hansen, she also observed that Americans were not well educated about other cultures during overseas deployments with the Navy and was thrilled to find an opportunity through TGC to change that. "I love how the kids just eat this stuff up! You teach them a few words in another language, and they greet you with those words and big smiles on their faces. There aren't many jobs more fun than that!"
